MILK

So here it goes again, another holiday rush of Christmas movie and inspirational stories, about well, duh Christmas and the values that dovetail it. Every Year. Usually I don't pay very much attention to where the films come from, (except for differentiating between Dreamworks and Pixar which the difference is sooo obvious right? -_-) however, I've noticed that lately I've been drawn to alot of Focus produced movies.

Although i haven't seen ALL of them, I did find a good amount of them that I watched to be "good." One of the newer films "MILK" starring a previous Focus actor Sean Penn from the movie "21 Grams." Although, the movie "21 Grams was probably one of my least favorite but nonetheless I would undoubtedly recommend Lost in Translation, The Constant Gardener, and Motorcycle Diaries.

Lost in Translation, is by far one of my favorite movies starring Bill Murray and Scarlet Johansson, is a very sweet movie with the catch line "everyone wants to be found," and directed by Sofia Coppola. While The Rolling Stone gave it an overall thumbs-up, Roger Egbert "loved it."
So I'm hoping to see this movie MILK, another Focus Films production centered on the life of Harvey Milk(Sean Penn) and his love affair with Scott Smith(James Franco). Jason on Atomicpopcorn.net describes the movie as, "
director Gus Van Sant tells the story of a rather lucky gay guy who, by natural charisma and a borderline unhealthy love of power, begins a wave of support for gay rights that would eventually spread all across the country."

So whether or not the movie is Christmas oriented in the least(as a matter of fact it was released in November... -_-) I still am curious to see it.
